CCV’s Research by or about CCV Students, Faculty, or Staff Policy requires any class project that involves human subjects research to be reviewed and approved by CCV’s Academic Dean prior to students beginning their work. This includes any assignment where students collect data from human participants (e.g., survey, interviews, observations) to answer an original research question. For example, an assignment where students are asked to observe a group of people (e.g., older adults, children) to inform a hypothesis or question would require review.

The review process includes a review by Academic Council’s IRB Committee and typically takes 2-3 weeks. The application for review should be submitted to the Academic Dean’s office.

Questions about assignments or the review process? Reach out to your Coordinator or the Academic Dean’s Office for support.

If you have any questions or would like input on whether an assignment requires review, please reach out to your Coordinator or the Academic Dean’s office, AcademicDean@ccv.edu.
